Meeting the Landlords Brother
Today, for Ellie and I was a details of living day. Clean up the room, run to the grocery store, and a little laundry. Today was my best time at the store so far – 30 minutes. However, we were not trying to buy things for a meal or anything new other than apple juice. Ellie was in a funk. She didn’t even want to go to the park. We hung out, did a few puzzles, played a few round of UNO Moo and some play dough. Hopefully, our laid back day will mean fewer tears tomorrow.
David finally got a computer at work. He also found out that the scope of his project has changed somewhat. He was and still will work on the project management of the global dishwasher for the American product. However, now his more immediate goal will be managing the project that will improve the efficiency of the current European models. There is a bill before parliament that will change the rating system (like the US energy star). Currently the categories are A,B,C,D, and E. Because most products are in the A category, this bill will break A down into four categories to further separate the products. The bill will go into effect in March. David will be leading a task force to insure at least one low-cost European model will meet the A+ level and at least one upper end product will meet the A++ level.
After David came home from work, we ate a quick supper before heading over to the apartment to meet with our landlord’s brother, Lars. Lars lives in the building while our landlord spends most of his time out of the city. Lars was a really nice older gentleman. While we had some questions answered, we walked away with more. Hopefully, we will be able to find answers by moving day. We did find out that our things will be delivered starting at 8:30 Friday morning. It is so exciting to know that we will be in our place for the weekend.
Lighting is still an issue. The engineer would like to take out the plug and rewire all the fixtures but it is making me nervous. David has now decided longer screws may be the answer to the problem. So tomorrow I am off to the hardware store.
