We are anticipating/hoping that our things will arrive sometime in the next week. However, there are some things that our apartment desperately needs – like light fixtures. Apparently a quirk of renting an unfurnished apartment in Sweden is that light fixtures are optional. There are also three different connections that are available. So in addition to finding a fixture you like and can afford is finding one with the right plug.
After a trip to the apartment to take a picture of the connections (two different ones in our apartment), we decide to brave IKEA. Two trains and a bus later we arrived. We were excited because we have heard rave reviews about them. Wow, I have never been to an IKEA in the States but this 3 story IKEA was completely overwhelming. Walmart should take note. The only way to escape (unless you know the shortcuts) is to walk by everything in the store. The upper floors are all laid out in to rooms, which is really neat. One can see how to lay out a 400 sq. ft. apartment to be completely functional. We finally found an area that had things grouped by function i.e. lighting but by that point Ellie was done. So we decided to call it an early afternoon and head for the hotel to do a little IKEA shopping by the net.
Ellie and I both crashed for a two hour nap, while David did some online shopping. We woke up just in time to see the Clemson/Miami game kick-off. Ellie and I had fun with Candy Shoppe play dough while David made us some yummy hamburgers with sautéed mushrooms for supper. We even tried the ICA brand potato salad. David thought it was pretty good. Ellie and I think the verdict is still out. It was a fun game right until the end, when we lost. The good news is Auburn won. We love the CSTV that we found to see college football games, at least the noon games.
